I had a party at my house on Friday, with lots of people coming and going. I had the girls gated off, but somehow, my Westie, Breezy, managed to escape anyway. After my last guest left at midnight, my cell phone rang. It was from a young man 4 houses down who said "I have your dog!" I DID NOT EVEN KNOW BREEZY WAS MISSING at that point! Keep in mind that if I were depending on the microchip for identification, he would probably not have gone to get her scanned until Monday (if at all), and I would have been frantic for 3 days.
I know many of you say that your little ones chew on their collars or tags. My dogs did too. But that is a puppy thing that they will get over very quickly. I am a big believer in wearing dog tags at all times. Please consider it if your dogs are now tagless. It could prevent a lot of heartache. |
