I have an area rug in my family room that I rolled up after we brought Leo home. I would suggest taking it very slow. At first, I put the rolled up area rug against one wall. I left it for a week. Every time he sniffed it, I told him no. After a week, I begain to slowly unrolled...inch by inch. Everytimes he sniffed it I told him NO. It probably took me a whole month to get it completely unrolled.
