I know how you feel. They'll wrap you around their paw so quickly. When I first started out, it was the same way. You just love them to death and then they go. While they need to be socialized and loved, they do not need to be treated as if they were your own. It makes it harder, not only for you, but the pup also, when it's time to go to their new home. It really comes down to a balancing act for us. I think we've finally figured it out though. Our puppies are loved and very happy and socialized but not so bonded to us that they have separation anxiety when they go to their new home. We do this by limiting the time we have them out and play with them every day. A couple of hours every day for playing out with us and grooming seems to be about right. We don't limit how much we love them, just the amount of tome we spend with them. I hope this makes sense. Like I said, it's all about striking a balance.
