The Kong toys are great. It takes quite a lot of work to get the treats out. And they are sturdy. My TJ had jaws of steel and he hasn't been able to damage them any. There are also rubber teething toys that you put in the freezer to chill. I had 2 for TJ and he loves to chew on them.
Never thought of putting ice cubes in a sock. I always worried about all of the socks in the house becoming fair game.
