Congratulations on you new litter and welcome to Yorkie Talk. It is important that your female eat plenty of good quality food. I always feed mine Chicken Soup dry puppy food mixed with canned Pedigree Lamb and Rice puppy food. It is important that she eat about 4 good meals a day and she should always have dry puppy food available. Be sure her last feeding is right before you go to bed. Her pups are at the age where they are really draining her of calcium so be sure that she is getting half a calcium pill twice a day to prevent eclampsia. My females usually gain weigh while nursing because they eat so well. Many of the breeders on here feed their bitches a 'whelping pudding'. You can do a search and find many threads that have recipes for it. Please keep us posted on how she is doing and we would love to see pictures. |
