I do everything from Bathing, clipping their Nails, Sanitary shaving (that's their private parts) Abigail & Tiffany Aloha have their bangs/eyes trimmed w/scissors and Artie has a Topnot and his Tail Braided every day. They are brushed at least twice a day and get their Teeth brushed and eyes wiped w/a warm wash cloth every morning before we leave the House. So that takes care of the Teeth problems. No Anal gland problems at all. With the exception of their Annual visit to the Vet. for shots I have never had a "Accident" or any Health problems. All their ears stand small & erect. They don't keep me up @ Night at all since I walk/excercise them twice a day. They have never peed in my Bed since they do Not have any issues w/ me they know I am the Pack Leader since I have more than 1.
They are Socialized and well Trained with voice, sound and hand signals.
You would be Surprised how far "Good Breeding" goes, all the problems you mentioned IMO are not the "Norm" for my 3 anyway!
I have 8 books on Yorkie's and I research and meet as many Yorkie's on the Street/Public as possible I refused to believe anything negative.
Just remember your Dog whether it's a Yorkie or not is a reflection of you.
I'm proud and blessed to have 3 "Angels" but you either Love them with all your Heart or hate them b/c of their "High Maintenance"?
It's truly up to you how they turn out? I'm here to tell you that they are worth all the Trouble if you get the right one, Good Luck finding that one but if you do you won't be disappointed. Go Yorkie's!
You sound like a great trainer and pack leader. I think it's best to "expect" the worse, and be pleasantly surprised. I've just got to know how you trained them in two days. Any tips?
