As I told you in your other thread, the Capstar just killed the adult fleas, not the eggs and larvae. When he scratches, they fall off and hatch in your carpet. You need a good topical that kills all stages of the flea from your vet like Frontline or K9 Advantix. You may have to treat your carpets or bomb your house if you can't get ahead of the fleas. |
I don't use anything other than what we get at the vet from the vet, and only in the summer, so that's only 3 months of treatment and then if needed. (Frontline/Anvantix, etc.) I used a "regular" brand from the pet store once and Sammy was scratching for 4 days and acting like a maniac! never again. I hope no one here uses flea/tick collars either. The vet said if your dog chews on them or somehow manages to get it off he can get intoxicated
