Mine eventually stopped the biting thing, I just shouted no really loud when mine did it. Was this a freak, one time thing? Or is it becoming a regular thing? Maybe he was just aggravated with the kids. At any rate, I don't think you want his crate to be associated with punishment...if that's his sleeping place. That should be a happy place.
