When I first got Jamie he barked and jumped at the broom but I've consistently corrected him. Now when I sweep or mop or vacuum he gets up on the couch a takes a nap. You can try squirting him with a spray bottle or shaking a can of pennies anytime he starts the behavior. Be sure and step between him and the broom and let him know that its your property and he can't touch it or bark at it. When he is acting appropriately be sure and remember to give lots of praise!
