I have to share this..as most of you already know..I got Riley from a really bad breeder and he was extreamly sick and never had much human contact..so he was EXTREAMLY afraid of people..anyway it has been close to 1 month that we have had him, and I have been totally in love from day one...he has come such a long way with his confidence and more importanly, his health,,,he has a clean bill of health now...and he even looks like a differnt puppy..
....but today we had a real brake through....I had him and my bichons out in our fenced in yard and my neighbor down the street hollered for me, so i left the yard and went down the street. I was gone for about 15 minutes or so. well when I came back I opened the gate and entered the yard..Riley came running full force across the yard,..
and i bent down and he actually JUMPED in my arms...
....and he just kept jumping and licking my face...( I was sitting in the grass in awe at this point)...I have never seen any of my babies this happy to see me before...I could not believe it,,,I was soooo happy and shocked at the same time I was almost in tears!..this coming from the same puppy that not quite 4 weeks ago was so scared of us that he would run and hide every time that we ventured near him...he has been making such good progress with his socialization, but this was just beyond what I was expecting....I cant even describe how good that made me feel...I was so happy for him that he felt confident enough to do that....and all day he has been my little shadow following me EVERYWHERE. he is just such a sweet little guy..and we are blessed to have him in our family....
