Can it be bred out of a line? If it is genetic, why introduce it into a line to harm the temperament of the puppies born from that dog and then litters born from those dogs. One problem can have a ripple effect for a long time to come.

Everyone here is right. This is a scared dog! I ran a all breed rescue for 2 1/2 years. I have seen German Shepard so scared they refused to pick up their own head. Shaking ( if not for heath reasons) is fear. If you only wanted a pet I am sure you could bring the little one out of it's shell. I kept the worst of my foster cases. A little mix beaten near death. She stayed with me she is still shy and if someone yells she dashes for cover. Other than that she is WONDERFUL but I have had her for FIVE years.
Unless you have tons of time and love for a dog like this and won't breed it. I would find another little one.
Best wishes to you and to that poor little pup.
I'm not adopting this pupp... Never had any thoughts about adopting this puppy, I just never heard of it's problem in a Yorkie and wanted to know more info on it... I do hate the thoughts of it being adopted out as breeding stock tho. But I'm not the Breeder so it's out of my hands. Thanks for your info. Lee
