I think it is less expensive to finish a dog with a handler. As a rule, it takes an owner handler longer to finish a dog. It was almost a year from the time Deuce got his first point until the time he finished. You can send your dog out for a few months with a good handler and get him finished. This is a hobby not a profession for me. I don't show every weekend.

I had a dog with a handler for a few months last summer and I was a lot less expensive than I expected it to be.

Jamie Bennett (from VA) is a wonderful handler and a wonderful person. She campaigned her own dog to #2 last year. If you are interested, I will get her info for you.
