yes...but I also have what is called a docking port on which my laptop is inserted then the monitor is hooked up to the docking station so that I don't have to disconnect the monitor every time I take the laptop out with me. I had disconnected the monitor from the docking station while I was not using the puter and when I hooked up the monitor now it is working fine again. So there is some prob with the connection to the docking station....maybe it heats up...this also happens when it is not on long.
