Lola wont bite anyone that holds or pets her baby. However,she will go nuts jumping and running in circles,crying really loud when I pick her baby up every morning just to weigh him. Before Iused to put the scale on the floor right next to the whelp basket but Lola would run out and try to jump on the scale with the puppy! lol
Mommas are usually over protective (sometimes may get agressive) for the first few weeks 4-5 weeks until the baby is weaned and eating puppy food. I thought that Lola would be this way forever lol... I've been told by several breeders that the moms will stop this behavior when the puppy is weaned... I will see in another 2 weeks how Lola will react. Our puppy is 17 days old.
