Borax. Lots of info out online - I googled Borax fleas - so many great reports and people do use it in their yards.
This year for the first time ever, I poked holes in the lid of a very large yogurt container, filled the container with Borax and sprinkled the yard with Borax to keep the fleas away.
I haven't tried it on the carpets but people swear by that too,
Also, I have read buying flea collars and placing them in the corners of your rooms will help also.
Eucalyptus is also a flea deterrent -- we use a shampoo with Eucalyptus oil in it, but a lot of products in the health food store have it
