Can't you have a potty pad in the bathroom and he can go on that during the night? Do you ever try just letting him cry and then maybe he will go on the pad and go back to sleep?

Gabby has never slept in our room, so maybe that is why, but since day one she has slept through the night (perhaps not sleeps but does not cry and wake us up). When she was little she slept in her play pen and had a potty pad to go on. Now she sleeps in the large kitchen, and goes on her potty pad during the night.
Good luck!
