Our probably isn't necessarily food, but just being in "his area". I talked to a trainer who said he's just trying to claim dominance, and to let him snap at Rowdy if it isn't out of pure aggression. How can you tell it's pure aggression. I think any dog snapping is aggression. Rowdy's just a puppy so he wants to play and runs up to Champ and Champ turns around with a snarl and goes after him. What shoud I do? Am I being over protective? I'm also worried that is they both go after each other Rowdy could hurt Champ with his sharp baby teeth. HELP!!
Champ is "correcting" Rowdy the only way he can...growls, a snap, or mouthing. What sounds and looks very rough to you....is not to the dogs. Momma yorkies correct their babies in much the same manner. I see this behavior between Ramsey (my oldest) and Reggie who is puppy. Reggie constantly wants to play and sometimes...Ramsey simply isn't interested in that puppy business and let's him know.

I have three...what I see with Ramsey is not aggressive action. I've seen actual fights between Ramsey and Reese...and there is no mistaking those.

Supervise them when they're together...they'll work it out. If you get concerned that Champ is being too rough...seperate them.
