A friend of mine's daughter really did make my day yesterday with this excuse.....
"Janey" asked her daughter, "Emily", to go to the Post Office, get a stamp, and mail a payment.
"Emily" swears she did, "I promise, Mom, I promise!!!"
"Emily" calls mom and lets Mom know that she has to run to Plano because she didn't mail the payment.
Mom asks, "Emily, you told me you mailed the payment, why didnt you mail it?"
And "Emily" well on her way to being valedictorian of her class, says.... ARE YOU READY FOR THIS???????
"But Mom, I tried to mail it but the Post Office was out of stamps!"
I really think she wins
for best excuse!!
ETA: Personal note to Megan.... please tell me you have never used this excuse! =)
