My two bark at things outside (neighbors walking dogs, loud cars, the UPS man) and loud noises inside, like if I drop something or if the oven timer goes off. They have different barks for different things. They will bark if they want water and the bowl is empty, which is completely different than their other barks. You learn which bark means what and what they are trying to tell you! Some days they are really barky, but if I wear them out they tend to sleep and not really care what's going on outside. It depends.

They don't sleep very well through the night when they are puppies (Loki always had to go out to pee in the middle of the night forever!) but now my two sleep all night as long as they go out right before bed. They do wake up early in the morning to go out, but as long as I let them out and feed them hey will go right back to sleep on lazy Saturday mornings
