I'm also concerned my friend doesn't realize what such a long flight (or even a short one) can affect a small puppy.

My primary question was to understand if the breeding were as strictly controlled as my friend is being led to believe. (We all know there are good and bad everywhere.) She's never had a dog and when I asked her some basic questions, she realized she didn't "do her homework" just ordered a puppy for her child. I'm afraid the person she was referred to is a backyard breeder. At any rate, I'll be there to support her and help out as best I can. Hopefully everything will turn out well. I've learned much more about this breed from all of you. This list is great.
