You need to keep him on a leash at all times outside. Sorry but Yorkies are terriers - they have a prey drive and they will take off after a bird, squirrel, etc. You MUST keep him on a leash.
Classes are great because you will learn how to communicate with him. You need to work on recalls. If you call him and then punish him, why would he come next time? You need to praise him when he comes and give him a treat even if he ran off or did something wrong. Classes are fun anyway, so I would definitely take one! |
