I do find them more prone to an accident due to people not seeing them, dropping them, improper care, falling of beds on to hard flooring...I had a 6 pounder, Clemmie fall of the couch and break her leg.
I have not seen low blood sugar, evver..I firmly believe it has a genetic component, as does a number of vets I have dealt with...of course you can be careless and not feed them properly and have a sick puppy...but I sure wish breeders would stop blaming the new owner..so unfair.
I read so many posts about low blood sugar and the need for the ER..it is heart breaking.
I blame breeders for selling these puppies too young to uninformed pet lovers who are not instructed in care by the breeder..I blame poor genetics also... |
This is my experience exactly. I hear about the "Health Problems" that go along with the tinies but I haven't seen that at all. I do see health problems that tend to go along with inferior breeding practice, and if that breeder has a tiny it will be just as unhealthy as it's larger siblings.
At the end of the day the market sets the price for anything you shop for. If there is perceived value...someone will pay for it, whether it's a $5000 Yorkie or a $4 cup of coffee.
