Well, I must be lucky with Bella. I had the exact playpen.....& loved it. She never climbed/jumped out. She even @times wanted to get in....would go to the side & look up @me!
I will tell ya that I started when she was just a puppy....so she got use to it. The only downside to this one: I wanted to be able to move from room to room easily & it is wider than my doorways....so I had to collapse it before moving which was a nuisance. So I ended up buying this:

I can't tell you how much I love this one!
It's just as long, but not as wide, so it fits perfectly through the doorways. I also attached smooth casters to the bottom so that it would slide from room to room. It collapses to a very small diameter too. We took it recently on a trip, takes very little space......Love it! Bella loves it too!!
