you could always buy a used tranny....thats what I did with my old car. It only cost me $800....the dealership told me it would cost about 1800-1900 to fix it also then I took it to these people and they told me to get a new tranny its 1800-1900 but they could sell it to me a little cheaper but it was best to go with a used, and it came with like a 2 year warranty. I'd check around first....JMO sorry if I just butted in here....just wanted to share what I did in case it helped.
