I agree with the others on here. Those bugs you are describing get in your sugar, oatmeal, flour, etc. Fleas wouldn't be there and they're not slow at all. Fleas feed off of live hosts (your dog, pets, etc.) I don't know how you guys feel about those topical liquids. I use them on Sammy in the summer since he's outside with me a lot. It takes care of the problem. A good vacumming should help with the rug, unless you have tons of them and keep him off of it. Fleas are very quick and hard to see on his fur and probably on everythign else you have. THey are almost impossible to see on Sammy cause his hair is still black. I wouldn't worry, but I don;t let Sammy get on my bed or pillows and I wash his EVERYTHING in hot water in the washing machine when I have found fleas on him.
