I'm so sorry for your little baby. I had to deal with this once when I was a teenager. We had a small 2.5 chihuahua for about 5 years one day he was out in the front yard and a car drove right up into our yard and hit him, the freak backed out and left. This was revenge for my teenage brother for stealing his girlfriend. I was so upset and so was everyone else in my home. My mom bought us another chihuahua different color and everything, but it was not Chico. We finally had to find him a new home because none of us could connect/bond with him. This was not fair to the little guy...too this day no one in my family has ever owned another chihuahua nor do we plan to (15 years later). Chico would and does hold a forever place with us.
Good luck on your little one and please due everything in your power to love the new baby, remember you picked her to love. That was something we didn't do.
