oh sure many yorkies go through their lives without it. But it isn't ONLY genetic...some arne't born with it but perhaps have a knee that might slightly less than perfect and then they jump off the couch and voila... LP. It's like anything... Labs and Shepheds are prone to hip issues.... Pugs... eye issues... it just is....
