I'm not positive on that one....my new pup has fleas too or so I think. I look and look and can't see anything through all of the long black hair. But he keeps chasing his bottom and dragging it like it is really irritating him. So I went to the vet and got drontal....one dosage is supposed to get rid of them....the tape worm part anyway and they gave him a dose of frontline to get rid of the fleas if he has them. The drontal was $27 for 1/4 of a regular tablet....I asked them if the entire tablet cost $100 they said no. Total BS to me that they charge the same for a huge dog as they do for a 2 lb pup. Let me know what works for you I'd like to know for future reference.
