i would not replace your fingers (or toes.. or nose
) with a toy.. you are rewarding his chewing by giving him something fun. You need to yelp (like his litter mates woul dhave done) and then walk away (like his mother or litter mates would have done)
My dad ALWAYS played rough with Layla... and somehow she understood (and still understands) that only grandpa plays rough. she would bite him so hard sometimes (oh those puppy teeth are sharp) his eyes would water
now she is much more gentle!
