I would still supervise them together and make sure yorkie doesn't feel displaced in the family. Feed yorkie first, yorkie gets greeted first, the first treat etc. Since yorkie sleeps on the couch...for the time being...the couch should be his alone.

Thank you very much for the answer and the suggestions I am a novice with the smaller breeds and have never had 2 dogs before..I will do all you suggest and pray for the best..you have no idea how much better i feel after hearing from all you wonderful people..It is so encouraging to know their are such wise and caring dog lovers in this world of ours..|Thank you all again..
