Its so hard.... it's like saying being less than a 100 lbs for a woman is healthy. its just advertisment.
I went to target yesterday and saw a shirt for Paris. I had to buy it, it said "J'adore Paris" with the eiffel tower, sooo cute, anyways on the tag it said "XS for teacup breeds"
so, our toy breeds are being advertised by the media/clothing, etc. People see it and think that's the best way they can sell their puppies.
Every outing with Paris its the same conversation
"Oh, do you have a teacup yorkie?"
Me: "um, no, she's just smaller than you're normal yorkie"
"so, she's a teacup then"
Me:" Well, i'm 4"11, shorter than the average human, does that make me a teacup person? No, so everyone is just a different size, including other species in my case my dog"
it'll never change.
