Wow, this is a really interesting discussion. Something everyone should consider when getting a pet.
But how about other circumstances.....like getting a dog to be a companion to your lonely widowed grandmother? If the dog brings her a few years of joy, is it worth leaving the dog homeless when she passes away?
When we got Sully, I took him over to play with my little cousins nearly every day. I wanted to socialize him to children now - so that one day, in like 3 years when I have a baby of my own, he'll adjust easier. Sully loves my cousins. Heh, you've all seen the pictures, LOL! |
