I also wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to those of you who have already donated via paypal and to those who have things on the way already. The generosity of YTers never ceases to amaze me.

I am hoping to get enough to pay for haircuts before school, get them a few outfits each as well as some much needed socks and underwear, any other school supplies they may need (you know how teachers sometimes add to the list on the first day), and hopefully enough to pay for their lunches for the first week of school. I am almost positive they qualify for free lunches, but sometimes it takes a week or more to get the paperwork turned in, processed, verified, etc. and lunches have to be paid for while waiting.

I also wanted to let you all know that I talked to the kids' mother and let her know what was going on. I worried and debated on how I was going to tell her. Financial issues can be kind of sensitive for some people, you know? I finally just decided honesty was the best policy. She started to cry and wanted me to express all of her thanks as well and tell ya'll that you have NO IDEA how much this helps. She has been worried to death about how she was going to get things for them this year and this is an answer to her prayers.
