I really am not sure about the age of breeding a male, but I thought it was 6-8 months. I'm anxious to hear from other breeders here to see what the answer is. Also, never heard of giving them fruits and veggies, so I'm excited to hear about that too. Sorry I couldn't help. Good luck in deciding.
