And is it worth it breeding just one time when it is still important to do pre-breed testing (bile acid testing, blood panel and possibly knee xrays, urinalysis, thrroid testing, hips checked, STD check...)? The stud owner usually keeps the bitch at their house, so you would be responsible for somebody's dog. The female needs to be held during the tie so she doesn't pull away and hurt the male. Then if the owner of the bitch is inexperienced, he/she should be able to come to the stud owner with questions/concerns. So if you want to breed, make sure it is right for you first.  |
I certainly wouldn't risk ruining his personality.
In addition to marking, he might start fighting with your other male. Also, your other male will likely pick up marking from him and you'll have two dogs marking in the house.
