Welcome to YT
Romeo doesn't like to be left alone too. Although he hasn't had any negative experiences, he just doesn't like being alone. Me and my husband work so I leave him in the bedroom with plenty of food, water and puppy pads. He's learned to use the puppy pads overtime. In the beggining he would just go on the carpet and overtime learned that he was suppose to go on the pads. The first thing I do when I get home is praise him for going in the right place. In the beggining and even now every so often I go home at lunch time and spend time with him. Romeo is 9 months old, I got him when he was 11 weeks. So like the other members said it will take some time. Start by leaving him for a chort period of time and then increase it overtime. Also make sure their's no electrical cords hanging or anything else he could hurt himself with. I leave him with plenty of toys and treats. Ofcourse he's still not happy being left alone but we have to work to pay the bills and be able to have him.
Hope this helps, send me a PM if you have any other questions concerning this.
Good luck to you. I commend you for taking her in. She sounds like a sweetheart. Also keep in mind, we love pics on this site, so feel free to share
