I'm the same way. Scooter is "NEVER" off the leash when I have him there. There are many, many big dogs, German Shephards, Great Danes, Pitt Bulls, etc., and although I've never seen a real "fight", I refuse to take that chance. Scooter usually lays under my chair in the shade, unless I've had him out in the water....then he likes to dig in the sand when he gets back on the beach. It's really funny when he starts doing the Yorkie dance and slinging sand everywhere!!
