HI and WELCOME ! you did great on your avatar - pics aren't too much different - they do need to be a certain size - JPEG pics are the best to post because they will show as thumbnails -
I'll add to helping you learn ...it's really easy once you do it for the first time
ONCE you resize and want to upload photos into a post ...
In your post, Scroll down and you’ll see Additional Options
Click MANAGE ATTACHMENTS
Click BROWSE to find the picture on your Computer
Click the picture – then click UPLOAD
