I honestly feel so heart broken reading this thread and can't imagine how devastated that the owner of the 3 lb yorkie must have felt. I'm glad that I groom and bathe Mica and Kali myself. The reason for this was that our other Yorkie Shasta (RIP) who passed away after Christmas 2007 when she was four was cut on her urethra area I imagine from the clippers on one occasion when I took her to get groomed. This particular groomer did not even bother to tell me about it then I noticed her shaking, likely in pain, when I brought her home and on inspection I saw the lacertation.
I called them up right away to discuss the matter and they really were not even that sorry at the time. I was so angry and sad for Shasta. After that incident then I decided I'd learn to groom her myself. I don't do a perfect job but at least I know my babies will be safe with me. Also, I think the more you groom them the faster it becomes, as you become more proficient and comfortable with the process.
