Work. Yuck! Actually its not nearly as bad as I'd thought it would be. The pay sucks, and I'll barely be able to pay my bills. I'm hoping soon I'll get a set schedule and then I can look for a part time job as well.
Last week I was working 8-5, the weekend I worked 10-7 (during the day..apparently they had accidently put PM instead), then this week I work 2-11pm. I've hardly had time to get on YT and when I do I barely post, just read. Most of my time at home is spent making sure the puppies get enough attention.
My dept. mgnr is only going to be dept mgnr for a few more days then I have to get used to someone else. I am a little ticked though. I was told by one person that after 90 days I could go into the mgnt training program. Now they are telling me that I have to work there 6 months. Which makes NO sense to me whatsoever, because I know they take people straight out of college that have never worked for Walmart into the program. I have a 4 yr degree, why should I have to work there 6 months when others don't?
Andrew has offered to help pay for me to move to Boise, but right now I'm barely making the bills w/o having to pay rent. So I really don't know how I could be able to afford rent on top of everything else.
So I don't know. I'm going to talk to the assistant manager that offered to be my mentor and see what she says the best thing to do would be. If I were getting management salary than I could definitely afford to move. I just don't know if maybe I should move then apply to the program, or go through the program then move.
Ideally though, I don't want to be working for Walmart long unless I can go into management with them. (Although I was told by store manager that he didn't think i'd be a good fit for Walmart... I think its cause I don't do the cheer enthusiasticly enough.. sorry but I ain't cheerin' for 7.20 an hr) |
