There isn't any problem feeding them adult formulas over puppy food. Iams is really not the best food. Mine are fed Wellness. I'd look for a food without grains as those can cause itchies in many. Other food choices would be innova or candiea. Generally the portion amounts are provided on whatever dog food you chose. It can range from 1/3 to 1/2 cup a day.
