hahaha . . . things like that will raise the hair on the back of your neck for sure. My girl Bichon, Lacy, went wild barking at my bedroom door once. She was stiff-legged, definitely in "protect mom mode," snarling and jumping up and down on her front legs like she does when she's really being protective. She sounded like a doberman about to attack! I went to see what was the trouble, of course. It was night and I live alone, but I always go look. It took me a little bit to see what was concerning her, but then I saw a poster on the wall that had come loose on one corner and it was hanging down. I think she saw it drop loose and moving when it first fell. I put it back up and told her she was a very good girl for being so observant and ready to protect her mom. She quieted right down and all was well. I spent some time petting her and talking to her. I like the fact that they are very observant and alert me to anything different, no matter how trivial. It might be a fire or a prowler or something that really needs my attention.
