IDK what the best solution is to the wild mustangs and their increasing numbers. I don't want them euthanized anymore than the next animal lover.

There is a "ranch" not far from here - literally hundreds of acres if not thousands, the ranch extends on both sides of the highway for miles. The entire ranch is nothing but wild mustangs. The owner is paid by the government $1000/mustang/year.....there has to be over a thousand mustangs on the ranch. So, this cost at least a million dollars per year to do nothing but keep wild mustangs. And, this is just one ranch, I'm sure there are many more across the country.

So, what to do? Spend hundreds of millions of taxpayer money, when the country is in an economic downward spiral, the likes of which most of us have never experienced before? Banks are folding, retirement funds are being swindled away, terrorists are making us keep the war machine funded, families can't afford medical care for their children and now even food. Just how much can we expect the government to fund? Some generation eventually has to pick up the tab for all of the programs we want from our government.

I know there has to be a better solution than euthanizing mustangs or keeping them on federally funded ranches. Is there not a "mustang rescue" program going on, where private citizens are allowed to adopt them? Good Lord - there are private ranches in Texas that could probably house all of them and the owner would still have thousands of acres leftover.
