Well he called back right after I posted here. We talked about my qualifications and he told me about the company and the person who left and stuff. I guess the woman who was there is a step up from me, with more design experience. I did tell him that it's my interest to go in that direction and gain design experience. But he did say the only thing he's hesitant about is my lack of experience. But he said I have the right attitude so they might go for that and train me, but not to be really surprised if they don't. He also said since I have less experience, they wouldn't give me the salary listed in their ad, and if anything maybe a bit more than I make now.
Oh yeah and the job isn't in Vancouver, it's in a small engineering firm in Chilliwack, which is about a 2 hour drive from the center of Vancouver, and about 1 hour from the outskirts apparently. It's a smaller town with a population of 70,000. Now I'm not quite sure what to think!
But I did tell the recruiter to go ahead and give them my resume. He said the next step if they're interested would be to set up a phone interview, and then an interview in person. He said that would be MY expense though to fly out there to interview and stay at a hotel and fly back. I told him I'd only maybe consider that if it was a very good possibility I'd get the job.
I guess we'll see
