  A Yorkie female should be at least 5 pounds before considering breeding but that is not all to consider. There are many recent threads here concerning this and you should read them. Also, spaying at the same time as having a c-section may not always be the best decision but your vet is the one to tell you that. I would never recommend someone breeding a female that small to begin with. It's a very risky proposition not only for the dam but the pups too. It sounds like from your post that you aren't experienced at all with this. It isn't something to be done without a lot of research which it doesn't sound like you've done. Any pregnancy has its risks and not just at whelping time. Having a 4 pound Yorkie getting pregnant has many extra risks so, for the sake of your girl, I would still say the best thing would be to have her spayed now.  |
