I am so sorry to read of your sad loss. I've been through this myself twice with dogs, the first time when I was eight months pregnant and the second time in less than a week after I'd had a stroke myself.
It does sometimes happen that a dog just can't go on living any more, for a number of reasons, and in these cases the best and kindest thing you can do for him/her is to take him/her to the vet for the very last time and - if the dog means anything to you at all - to stay with your dog while the final injection is administered.
Staying with your dog at the very end is the last and greatest thing you can do for him, I reckon; when he goes to Heaven the last memory he will have of life on this earth is of you, his beloved owner, by his side as always. |
