You're safe to bathe once per week at the minimum, or every 3-4 days if you feel you need to as long as you make sure the products you are using don't irritate or dry the skin. The essential oils on the skin keep it healthy as well as the hair follicles themselves. You may want to keep a dry bath product on hand for in between baths.
I use Plush Puppy products on my two show puppies, and Suave Coconut shampoo/conditioner in one for the others. It's important not to put shampoo on or scrub the skin, concentrate on the coat. Dilute the shampoo and be sure to rinse well.
