What you are describing is exactly like my pom. Maya is 11 years old and has bitten me several times. She use to stay under my bed all the time and if I tried to get her out she would snarl like a possessed demon and bite me if I tried to out my hand under the bed. I can't clean her eye gook with out her snapping at me. Only since I brought other dogs into the house has she slept on my bed She has never bitten the other dogs and seems better since I have the other dogs now. When I take her to the vet she is good as gold, will let me and them touch her do anything. I would never have rehomed her since I knew most people wouldn't put up with it and I love her. She can also jump in my lap and kiss me too.She will growl at the others if they are bothering her but nothing more. I just figured she was a pet shop buy and I thought maybe the pom personality was so different than the yorkies I was use to. I never knew how to change her. She went to obedience class and can be off leash and never leave our property, she is very smart but when she doesn't want to be bothered she snaps. I know how you feel. |
