We have scorpions around here, not so bad as our last house though. When they sting it's similar to a wasp in the pain level and reaction. In other words, if you are allergic to bees and wasps you would probably be to a scorpion sting.
For treatment of scorpion stings I would keep on hand, benadryl and anything else you might normally use for wasp stings.
