I was looking through the posts because I was interested to hear what the public thought of UYR. I've been a foster mom with United Yorkie Rescue for over a year and I LOVE IT! I have never done anything so gratifying ever! It's easy to find time. What's another mouth to feed?

Sometimes they stay a few days, sometimes a few weeks, sometimes a few months. It's hard to give them up, but having that special bond with a dog is a wonderful feeling.
I started reading your post and when you said you were considering adoption, I was so excited for you.... Then I found out it was through us! I remember Mavrick from our website for many months but I never knew who adopted him (I'm in Florida but we share a state director, Dianne, who is also the VP of United Yorkie Rescue). I was really hoping while reading this that you got him. Then I finally got to the end!
YAY!!!!!
I hope all is well and that you love your new addition. Adopted dogs do sometimes come with "baggage" and sometimes not. I think the love and gratitude you get from them is priceless. They KNOW they've been saved. I think it is such a special and wonderful thing you did. Remember, we cannot rescue dogs unless we have loving homes for them to go to. Thank you for taking Mavrick and giving him a loving home. Have someone take a picture of Mavrick, Rigger, and the whole family for our Happy Tails page!!

Take care and yorkie kisses to you all!
Jenn (foster mom for UYR in Miami, FL)
